The Rs 250-crore Radhakrishna Group is planning to take its food service distribution business national. The company, Radhakrishna Foodland Pvt Ltd, which has started the first distribution centre at Mumbai, will have similar centres in the northern and southern parts of the country.

The distribution centres form part of the company’s positioning as a one-stop shop for commercial and institutional clients through its ‘Farm-to-Plate’ concept.

Speaking to FE, Radhakrishna Foodland Pvt Ltd general manager (sales & marketing) Ivan Rodrigues said by next year the company is planning to set up distribution centres at Delhi and Bangalore to further the food service distribution business.

“The distribution facility in Mumbai—which started in October— will cater to clients in the Mumbai and Pune regions. Eventually we plan to target the northern and southern markets by having a distribution centre in these regions,” Mr Rodrigues said.

He, however, refused to comment on the investment figures for the venture and the projected turnover of the company.

The distribution centres are part of the ‘Farm-to-Plate’ concept under which the company offers an array of facilities which ensures the quality of the product right from the source to the customer.
